From
early childhood, it was evident that God gifted Charles with
artistic ability. He has accomplished contemporary and
traditional compositions, but his passion is western art.
His works depict the subject’s life and his appreciation for
art motivates realism.
As a student of art, he studied both the anatomy of animals
and people. Charles attended the University of Texas in
Arlington where he majored in art. He later studied under a
western artist, Don Churchill.
In 1989, he won the Texas citation award for “Ebony
Cleaners,” which toured all of the major cities for one
year. He has won, placed, or showed in every juried event in
which he has competed. Charles’ love of the outdoors is seen
in his paintings. His interest in Western culture and his
travels inspire a true distinction as seen in “Blue Indian.”
Additionally, Charles uses his knowledge of history to
authenticate his work.
Today, this cowboy artist lives in East Texas and chooses to
spend as much time as possible working on his cattle and
tree farm. He continues to reach new heights with painting
and drawing while cultivating his own style of western art.
